Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

PCR stands for “Phytocannabinoid Rich” and describes an oil containing CBD and other cannabinoids. CBD stands for “Cannabidiol” (Canna-Bi-Diol). It is a naturally occurring compound and is the most prominent cannabinoid besides THC, but without the psychotropic effects.

Where does it come from?

The terminology may be confusing: Cannabis, Marijuana, Hemp? CBD is made naturally by the Cannabis plant either from marijuana or hemp plant. Our CBD comes from industrially grown hemp organically farmed in accordance with Industrial Hemp Regulations. Hemp is grown for paper, rope, and building materials. According to Patrick K. Nightingale Esq. of PK Law, Cannabis Solutions, and Executive Director of Pittsburgh NORMAL, Cannabidiol (CBD) is NOT scheduled under PA’s controlled substances act. Police and prosecutors do not consider CBD extracted from industrial hemp to be controlled in PA.

Why do I need it and What is the Endocannabinoid System?

Everyone is built with an internal endocannabinoid system that thrives on similar compounds your body makes like 2-AG and Anandamide. It is the greatest system you’ve never heard about! Taking CBD supplements may help to replenish, promote, and balance your natural internal endocannabinoid system.*

The Endocannabinoid System is involved in a variety of physiological processes.

  1. Appetite & Metabolism – Obesity & Insulin Resistance
  2. Immune function – Autoimmune Diseases
  3. Pain-sensation – Chronic and Neuropathic Pain
  4. Reproduction – Reproductive Dysfunction
  5. Stress – Chronic Diseases
  6. Mood – Depression, Anxiety, PTSD
  7. Memory – Slow & “Fuzzy” Thinking
  8. Sleep – Insomnia & Waking Up Tired
  9. Thermoregulation – Thyroid Function

Will CBD get me high?

No. Only Cannabis that contains THC will make users “high” or intoxicated. CBD is the second most abundant cannabinoid and it has zero psychotropic or “high” effects. This means it may be safer to take CBD and drive, look after children, or go to work than Medical Marijuana (THC). CBD may be a better choice for the elderly and children than THC containing products.

“Cannabidiol has antipsychotic effects. ... Cannabidiol seems to prevent the breakdown of a chemical in the brain that affects pain, mood, and mental function. … Cannabidiol might also block some of the psychoactive effects of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Also, cannabidiol seems to reduce pain and anxiety.” – Source: https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1439.html

What is the CBD Questionnaire and Why is it Important?

We strongly recommend our clients fill out our online CBD Questionnaire (Click here to fill out our CBD Questionnaire). Filling out our questionnaire allows our CBD experts to learn more about you and your specific goals so we can better help you achieve them.

We are able to recommend a CBD serving based on our experience with various conditions. The questionnaire also allows us to check any potential interactions between CBD and Rx medications and to adjust serving suggestions accordingly. The data collect is also de-identified and added to a database to better help us help others.

Are LabNaturals CBD Products Independently Tested?

Not all CBD products are properly labeled. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 84 commercially available CBD products on the internet were chemically analyzed by an independent lab. The researchers found that only 31% of the products tested contained the precise amount of CBD advertised on the label (within the acceptable margin of error). – Source: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2661569

We include all five statements required by the FDA when labeling a food supplement; the name of the dietary supplement, the amount of the supplement in the bottle, the supplement facts panel, an ingredients list, and the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor. If the label on the CBD does not have these five statements and the company cannot provide testing results, DO NOT BUY IT and DO NOT USE IT! There is no telling what is in the product!

3 Things to Check Before You Buy

Extraction Methods: CO2 Extraction is safer than Ammonia or Ethanol which can leave chemical residues. LabNaturals CBD uses CO2 Extraction.

Source of the CBD: CBD derived from Marijuana may contain THC. Hemp is the better choice. Our CBD is derived from Hemp organically farmed in the USA. Imported Hemp has potential contaminates like pesticides, heavy metals, and solvents. LabNaturals CBD products have NO detectable THC, pesticides, heavy metals, or solvents.

Independent Lab Testing: Without independent lab testing to ensure quality, potency, purity, and consistency there is no way to be sure that a product is correctly labeled and does not contain toxic chemicals and residues.

We have multiple levels of testing to ensure quality, potency, purity and consistency. Our supplier, Folium Biosciences, tests their base oil product both internally and through third party testing. We create a liquid from the base oil which is tested by Confidence Analytics for potency. Our finished products are also sent to Confidence Analytics where they are tested to ensure no detectable THC and accurate concentration labeling. All of our certificates of analysis are available here.

Is it safe for children?

Yes, we work with physicians to closely monitor CBD servings and any potential outcomes. Importantly, our products have no THC. THC is psychoactive meaning it can get you “high.” THC may present issues for the children based on this “high” effect because brain development may be affected by THC and using THC makes focusing, learning and reacting quickly more difficult. – Source: Ryan SA, Ammerman SD. Counseling parents and teens about marijuana use in the era of legalization of marijuana. Pediatrics. 2017;139(3)

Is it safe for pets?

Yes, we work with pet owners to closely monitor CBD servings and any potential negative outcomes as well as looking for drug interactions with CBD. Importantly, our products have no THC. THC is dangerous for pets, especially dog, who have incredibly sensitive endocannabinoid systems.

Dogs can easily overdose on THC and have a severe negative reaction called Static Ataxia, which includes glazed eyes, excessive drooling, loss of bowel and bladder control, rapid breathing, falling over, and an inability to get up again. – Source: Medical Marijuana and Your Pet, by Dr. Robert Silver, DVM, MS, CVA

Are there interactions with medications?

“Some medications are changed and broken down by the liver. Cannabidiol might decrease how quickly the liver breaks down some medications. In theory, using cannabidiol along with some medications that are broken down by the liver might increase the effects and side effects of some medications. Before using cannabidiol, talk to your healthcare provider if you take any medications that are changed by the liver.” – Source: https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1439.html

We check medication interactions to ensure our clients health and safety when supplementing with CBD.

How much should I take?

General Serving Guidelines: Start LOW & Go SLOW!

Everyone is different and everyone’s internal balance system is different. Some people are slightly “out of balance” and other people are very much “out of balance.” Some people are very sensitive to substances and others are less responsive. There is no magic number, no formula, and no test to determine how “out of balance” you are. The good news is we have a great method to discover your “happy place” or “optimal dose.” We call this process “micro-servings.”

Less is more! By starting low and slowly increasing until you find your personal perfect balance, you may get optimal benefits without wasting money on excess CBD.

Please Note: Amount of body fat, duration and severity of condition, GI/Liver function, individual biochemical makeup, and endocannabinoid balance will affect any potential outcome. Everyone will respond differently because of differences in their internal endocannabinoid system. For many people it may decrease anxiety, it may provide pain relief, and it may help improve sleep and wellbeing.

Potential Minimal Side Effects: Dry mouth, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, potential feelings similar to dizziness and fatigue. – Source: https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1439.html

Safety Concerns: Cannabidiol doses of up to 300 mg daily have been taken by mouth safely for up to 6 months. Higher doses of 1200-1500 mg daily have been taken by mouth safely for up to 4 weeks. Cannabidiol sprays that are applied under the tongue have been used in doses of 2.5 mg for up to 2 weeks. – Source: https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1439.html

Not recommended for use in pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding as there is not enough reliable information on these groups.

mgs, mLs, 600, 1200, 3000 what does it all mean?

  • mg stands for milligrams - The unit of weight of CBD per bottle.
  • mL stands for milliliter - The unit of volume of liquid per bottle.
  • mg/mL = Concentration. How much CBD (weight) is in how much liquid (volume)?
  • The number next to “mg” on the bottle is a total amount of CBD (by weight) in that bottle.

Each dose is based on that bottle’s concentration. For example:

600mg in 30mL = Each 1ml contains 20mg of CBD.

1200mg in 30mL = Each 1ml contains 40mg of CBD.

3000mg in 30mL = Each 1ml contains 100mg of CBD.
